Alex realised his lifetime goal when he was 8 years old, after attending his local indoor karting track at Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and he would religiously watch Formula One with his family on Sunday afternoons to support his childhood hero, David Coulthard.
Despite not having the budget available to compete in karting at a professional level, Alex made the most of any opportunity he could get to visit Rye House in club races.
After a lot of hard work and persistence to put a budget together, Alex finally made his competitive racing debut in 2013 at the age of 19, competing in selected races of the Formula Vee Championship with AHS.
In October 2015, Alex was given the opportunity to test a BRDC Formula 4 (now BRDC British F3) at Donington Park with Chris Dittman Racing and impressed with how he adapted to making the transition to 'slicks and wings'. Unfortunately he was unable to find the budget required to compete in the championship and opted to stick with Formula Vee in 2016 where he has continued to show promising pace with a top-10 finish at Croft.
Away from racing, Alex works at his local ShakeTastic to help fund his passion and in 2016, he also graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in Motorsport Technology.
Always keen to meet fellow enthusiasts and supporters, Alex welcomes you to come and say hello if you are attending any of the races that he is competing at.
“Alex is working hard to be on the grid and is full of ideas. His enthusiasm for motorsport is just what is needed for success.”
“Alex is not just a solid and smooth driver behind the wheel but is also a terrific ambassador for the sport both on and off the track, and his passion and dedication can be of benefit to any team or championship he is part of.”
“I have had the pleasure to work with Alex on a few occasions. Both at track and providing remote support. His understanding of engineering and vehicle dynamics gives him a major advantage over his other competitors. Also, how he presents himself on and off track, makes him an ideal for any sponsor.”
“Alex’s passion and determination for motorsport is unquestionable. The challenges that he overcomes in his daily life have not stopped him from getting himself out racing (and on a limited budget), when many would have given up at the first hurdle. In addition, Alex has obtained a degree in Motorsport Technology which is only another string to his bow and helps, not only his technical feedback, but his consciousness of the marketing side too. Aside from his inspirational attitude, Alex is friendly, polite and a pleasure to be in the company of, and I wish him every success as he continues to achieve his goals.”
